From time to time, you find yourself in the situation when you need good old Oracle software. There are many reasons, for example, to reproduce "do-not-ever-touch-production" and see how it fits modern environments. And the first challenge you face is to find the software binaries. Today, Oracle offers for download Application Express releases down to 5.0.
There are few places where to get an older version:
- Apex 4.0.1 is built-in into Oracle Database Express 11g. It's a universal and lightweight solution.
- Apex 4.2 is not available for download, but Oracle Database 12.1 is still there. After installation, you can find $ORACLE_HOME/apex folder with Oracle Apex 4.2.5 in it.
