AI generative fill still sucks

I wanted to upload a new image to my LinkedIn profile as my last one was actually 14 years old! But the one I liked was a bit cropped in the original photo and wouldn't have worked out the way I wanted.
Here's my original photo:

Here's how it looks like when circle framed on sites such as LinkedIn and BlueSky. I'm not happy with how my crossed arms look with the rounded cropping:

Since there was nothing I could do with the original photo, I decided to explore a few AI generative fill tools on the market to create the rest of my body.
Only one of these tools (Phot.ai) gave me usable results:
- Phot.ai (only one that produced acceptable results)
- ChatGPT (failed and instead created a generic AI image)
- Pixlr (worst results)
- Clipdrop by Jasper (second worst)
- Adobe Photoshop (failed due to violation guidelines?)
- Simplified (violated their responsible AI practices?)
- Grok (capability does not exist)
All these tools require you to mark the area you want to generatively fill. Then it asks you, in text format, what you want to see, where I wrote "Generate the rest of the arm and torso in this cropped image."

ChatGPT (FAIL)
Claimed it "can generate the rest of the arm and torso" but instead gave me a generic AI image. I did laugh out loud though.

Pixlr (FAIL)
Nothing I can say about this. At least it tried.

Clipdrop by Jasper (FAIL)
Slightly better than Pixlr but still pretty messed up.

Adobe Photoshop (FAIL)
I hated that I had to enter my credit card information for the 7 day free trial only to get this error message. I supposedly violated their guidelines with my request. It likely interpreted my request as going against their ethical AI safeguards. Nothing was generated.

Simplified (FAIL)
Apparently my "entered prompt contains sensitive words that violate responsible AI practices." Nothing was generated.

Phot.ai (SUCCESS)
Gives you 4 different variations to choose from. Here I am showing the two acceptable ones. The arms look AI generated and appear a tad oversized, but beggars can't be choosers. You can download the HD version but it requires a paid subscription.

Here's how my final version looked like:

And here's the before and after on LinkedIn:

The arms still looks a tad fake, but it's a decent enough compromise for now, given the current state of AI generative fill technology.
